The Story of Workplace Missionary

The creator of Workplace Missionary, Paul Ress went on a mission trip to Adjumani, Uganda in June, 2019. It shattered his lens on life. Nothing was the same when he came back home to Louisville, Kentucky. He had been viewing life through a distorted lens. A lifetime of exposure to advertisements and broken social norms skewed it. Paul knew things had to be different to be better.

Prayer and reflection led to the Holy Spirit awakening in Paul. It hit him like the wind catching the sail of a ship. He had to do something. Then it occurred to him – we spend about 40 hours per week at work. That’s a third of every day that we work in this world. It’s the time when a Christian encounters the most unbelievers. Paul reflected on how he had failed to follow Jesus at work. He also saw that many other Christians were failing at following Jesus at work too.

Paul began working on a book titled, Workplace Missionary. Then he realized that book publishers only support authors with a following. It didn’t discourage him. Paul directed his energy to creating this website. It’s Paul’s prayer and hope that it will help you follow Jesus at work.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” – Mathew 9:37 WEB

Go and be a workplace missionary. You can do it!
