How old were you when you were baptized?

I was baptized by immersion at the age of 31 when our 1st child was in the womb. The pastor told the congregation that it did not mean they were doing infant baptism..

How did a failure set you up to have success being a missionary at work?

I was running my own business and it was not growing. I started working with another IT consultant on contract and we decided to join forces. We wanted to grow the business beyond the two of us as we could see we were limited in the number of businesses we could serve. We started meeting for prayer on a regular basis. We asked God for direction, prayed for our country, employees, and family. We continued to grow and then got busy working for more customers and discontinued our prayer time. That is when everything started to fall apart. Being too busy was our downfall.

What’s a Bible verse that you want to share with your fellow workplace missionaries? Why?

Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

John 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

If you could tell the CEOs of the biggest companies in the world one sentence about Jesus, what would it be?

Jesus wants to have a personal relationship with you. He wants to take your burdens and your cares and share the load with you. He wants you to know that you don’t have to do this alone. Jesus can do more than you can ask or imagine.

What’s the best spiritual investment you’ve made?

Be involved with Christians who want to connect their faith and workplace. Asking God for guidance and direction on a regular basis. Seeking His face and listening to the Holy Spirit.

What seed planting tip would you share with your fellow workplace missionaries?

Be curious and present. Be interested instead of interesting. Listen with curiosity and empathy. Take time to connect with coworkers. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Don’t settle for status quo and mediocrity. You were meant to Soar!

What would you tell young Christians who are entering the workforce for the first time?

Do NOT get consumed with work and trying to get ahead. Do NOT sacrifice your family time for the sake of work. Your family is much more important than your work. Spend time devoted to each family member one on one (date night, hobbies, etc.)

When you find yourself focusing on worldly things, what do you do to refocus on following Jesus?

Spend time in the Word and refocus on what is important.
